Beaches of
Anguilla

The Shores

Anguilla has 33 beaches. Some are famous; many are nearly empty. What they share is extraordinary water — clear, calm, and warm — set against fine white and golden sand.

This guide covers the beaches worth visiting during your stay: what makes each one distinctive, when to go, what to do there, and how far each is from Villa Bénie. The island is small enough that you can visit several in a single day.

01

Shoal Bay East

Two miles of powder-white sand and impossibly clear water. Consistently ranked among the best beaches in the world — and it lives up to the reputation. Calm, shallow water makes it ideal for families. Several excellent beach bars and restaurants line the shore.

02

Rendezvous Bay

Over a mile of undeveloped beach on Anguilla's south coast. The water is calm and the setting is wide open — views toward St. Martin on clear days. Relatively uncrowded even in high season. Perfect for long walks and genuine solitude.

03

Meads Bay

One of Anguilla's most celebrated beaches — soft sand, calm water, and a lineup of some of the island's best restaurants. Blanchards, Straw Hat, and others are right on the shore. The beach is beautiful both for swimming and for a long lunch.

04

Little Bay

Accessible only by boat or by rope down a cliff, Little Bay rewards the effort. The water is crystal clear, the cove is dramatic, and crowds are rare. Snorkeling here is some of the best on the island. Arrange a water taxi from Sandy Ground.

05

Barnes Bay

A smaller, sheltered bay with calm water and a local, unhurried feel. One of the less-trafficked spots on the island. Excellent for swimming and for those who prefer a quieter setting away from the more popular beaches.
